This Friday, Zimbabwe goes to the polls for the second round in the presidential elections, despite the fact that the results of the first round was with all probability tampered with and that Morgan Tsvangirai might actually have won that first round with more than 50% of the votes.
Now, using violence, extorsion and persecution, Robert Mugabe and his youth militia have managed to force Morgan Tsvangirai to withdraw from the second round of the election, stating he won't be a part of the regime's game when the result has already been decided by president Mugabe - regardless of how the election goes.
This is, of course, unacceptable. The time has come for the world to declare that democracy and the freedom of speech are universal rights, and to force Robert Mugabe to resign as president and accept the results of the election. I urge every woman and man in the world to stand up against dictators everywhere and especially Robert Mugabe, and petition their respective governments to take an active stand against the oppressive regime of Zimbabwe.
Together, we can bring democracy, peace and liberty to the oppressed people of Zimbabwe.
